Washing, sorting, hanging -when will my laundry finish? Waiting, I'm convinced, has made my wits diminish. I sit and time the washer with mind candy to amuse me Now my books are almost gone and I sit and laugh effusely Or do I mean effuSIVEly? And now I'm quite confused. But if I've erred instead of shamed I'd rather be amused. For mistakes are where you learn, and laugh, and errors can be fun -and you can't tell me that errors aren't common to everyone.

Caffeine is great for many things Few can deny the boost it brings It energizes and it zings To help you do all sorts of things
But I'd advise that even though It helps you get that extra "GO" Avoid a dozen cups of joe At 10 when you work tomorrow

Hee hee, I love that one, Praetheus!
I'm afraid I was lately feeling quite sickly From bad food, I think, though at least it passed quickly But if that's all there is to the dread salmonella I'm not giving up my raw dough with vanilla! Unfortunately, I don't think it was, Which means no raw dough, except once, just because.

Relax and do not dread, Magic Muffin is back from the dead and she usually posts in almost every darned thread!
Before the laptop she sits Not having net access was the pits and she could only post in bits.

One day in spring when I was hot And wanting pickle juice I swear I saw an astronaut Come riding on a moose I tried to ask him for his name And for a cup of tea But before I said a word He threw a brick at me I asked him what his problem was But all he did was babble And guess what next that weirdo does He challenged me to scrabble He wagered me his snorkel But I had to raise the stakes So I wagered him a wombat And a bag of grumble cakes He saw that I was serious And scratched his chin awhile Then stuck a Q-Tip up his nose And gave a wicked smile “I say old toad,” he said to me “That’s quite a hefty pot I’ll throw in my old moose Giraffe ‘Gainst everything you’ve got.” Now why his moose was named Giraffe This loony didn’t say But I agreed so we shook hands And both sat down to play Now I confess the guy was good Like none I’d seen before But I won the game with saxophone On a triple letter score All dermatologists agree At least nine out of ten That such a match you’ll never see As him and me again I jumped for joy the moose was mine I couldn’t wait to ride him But then I glimpsed an envelope Upon the ground beside him It said “To Mr. Pebblehead In Washington DC The letter clearly lost its way It all was up to me I took the snorkel and the moose That I’d won fair and square And gave the guy a grumble cake Because I’d brought a spare I rode off in the sunset On giraffe the fuzzy moose And wishing all the while That I had some pickle juice

(that was great, Praetheus)
I have a parrot He's green and poky I gave him a name The Mischievous Loki
He eats like a feathered horse And chews everything in sight I get the feeling that he Thinks I'm none too bright!

(thanks, Muffin)
So little time, so much to do Why am I always late? All this work I can't get through Just so much on my plate It's time that I tried something new It's time to get things straight I know exactly what I'll do I'll just procrastinate

If robin rests on ginger cat And cat lies down on russet backs If in the sky the full moon sat And shed it’s light on melting wax
If duck on lonely island smiles If round it’s neck hangs bell of brass If frog sits on adjacent isles With blue and yellow ball in grass
If cherries lie upon the ground And setting sun is heading home If most peculiar sight is found Of pair of hares atop a tome
If North Star shines o’er where bat flies If rooster crows from golden key Then it should come as no surprise To see cow in the apple tree

Sleep would be nice But for the high price Of loosing my job Without it I'd rob Helpless old dears To scrape by but the tears Of the things that I lost Wouldn't equal the cost Of a few hours sleep So I'll stumble and creep To the shower and door And just go work somemore
(ah, the choices we make)

Under luminous moon and sky The earth is untainted, clean and dry
Cloud shadows send a message of The mysterious past All is serenity before winter's first blast
Gather round the fire my friends and be of good cheer
As the icy fingers of Demeter's abandon Of the earth draw near.

It used to be fun to write for a pun Now I just weep for the key of the keep I will begin to pen and start again with words that sing across your hearing They don't make sense so go climb a fence I've just returned because I was spurned And Now I've no rest because She's the best and my writing is done since She has Won! ~a pathetic ditty by Irishman

My prose has returned, my love is not spurned! She fills up my heart, so I must take part,
Partake of my choice, and lift up my voice, In songs yet unsung, for heroics yet done.
So raise up your spear and let out a cheer, For the family and Clan the helps you to stand.
Then dance all about, with Victory shout, as heroes boast, we'll raise up a toast.
For all that we've done, in the spirit of fun For Heart and for Clan In the family of Man!

I find these poems quite pretty so indeed it is a pity that I have nothing to add for my rhyming skills are (oh, dear!) quite bad!
