Potter has it, though perhaps it was a bit too simple. Alright Irish, this next one I wrote should get your wheels turning:
My first is in curtain As well as in stage My second's in magic But never in mage In song my third's present Though absent in sing My fourth is in summer, In winter, and spring My fifth is the middle Of beginning and end My whole sprouts a giant Not likely to bend

t or a... i or c... o... r... n
Oh! It has to be an acorn!
I like these!
Who wills, waits, Who stills, sates; I visit when you're not around and when you seek I'll not be found; But come to me, all must do To end the visit, just pass through.
(I just made it up, so maybe not so great. Anyway, I'm trying!)

Well, Irish. Looks like you gotta wake up pretty early to beat our Hermione to the answer. Literally...I mean, she posted at, like, 2 am. What's up with that?
Anyway, you're both completely right - the answer is an acorn.
Now, for Hermy's riddle. Hmmmm... Is the answer a "Dream" or "Dreaming"?
I, of course, like the rhyming. And it sounds pretty too. Nice job.

Not wind, but that would be another fun one to craft a riddle around. Dreaming is close enough I'm going to give it to you since I won't be on for a bit. Supposed to be sleep, since that was what I'd intended to be doing when I wrote it... Lol.

I was gonna guess "sleep" if "dream" wasn't it. Wow, my turn again. Geez. Ummm... Okay, I've thought of one:
There dwell four sisters near this town In look alike, and like in gown Round and round in a ring they run Chasing each other just for fun Yet even though they gather pace Between them there is equal space
Looks like Hermy's takin' a break so this one's up for grabs. Good luck.

Not the seasons, though a lot of people guess that. It would almost be an acceptable alternate answer if it weren't for the "In look alike, and like in gown" part. Winter dresses much different than summer. Keep tryin'.

Well done, Hermione. The answer is a windmill - no matter how fast it goes around, each of it's four identical fans stay the same distance from each other. Looks like it's your turn again, Hermy.

Ah...
right in front of you, never near. A coolness that only arrives with heat. A promise of life, that if followed brings death.
What am I?

Oo, oo, I have it. Your cunning string of progressively obvious hints has ignited my dull wits with inspiration. The answer is a will-o-wisp. It all makes sense. (In fact, this riddle is itself very much like a will-o-wisp, which in hindsight is pretty frigin awesome.)

You know, I like that better than my original answer of a mirage, so I'm just going to go with it.
Now it's your turn!

What is this curse? The last three riddles I've answered weren't the real answers but the riddles were given to me anyway. My talent for giving the best wrong answer is astounding.
Anyway, here's a new riddle:
A word I give with letters three. Add two and fewer there will be.
What's the word?
