Well, we'll see how long this lasts:
My first belongs in monastery; it's found in all religions My second mirrors the mouths of the ones who issue forth the whole My third and fourth insist on living in most gerunds, you will find My whole transcends most cultures but is an insight into each.
Bah. I need food. Oh well we'll see.

Phew. I just wandered over to see what riddles were here and found that mine was still active! At first it was TERRIBLE, I couldn't figure out what I meant. then I figured it out! Ha! So yeah, back to this. Gerunds are a form of a verb that acts as a noun in most cases, except for certain specific clauses where they can hold the place of the verb. But in English, Crookshanks is right, they nearly always end in '-ing'. The only exceptions I can think of are words English stole from other languages and kept the original grammatical forms for. Of course, not everything ending in 'ing' is a gerund, but you get the picture. So, yes, the last two of the whole of this riddle are two of the three letters I N G. Tip for the first letter/clue: look at those two words (monastary and religions) as words, not as symbols representing something bigger than just a collection of letters. Someone will have to post SOMETHING before I put up another clue though

Well, only the first letter was wrong. what other letters are in common between 'monastary' and 'religions'? It really does make a whole, common, and ordinary English word. You're close! Keep trying!
