you looking for a new job, Irish? good luck to you -- hope you get a real good one that's lots of fun & has great perks! Today I... tasted ales at the Sierra brewing company -- turns out I moved into a town with a brewery! YEE HAW!!! (also turns out that they don't bother bottling up the best stuff -- there's a whole bunch of seasonals... and then there's all the 'we make it when we feel lilke it -- you never know' bunch -- one of whidh is the 'Scotch Ale' -- real, real nice! -- and then there is all the 'trial runs' that are just the brewers having fun & trying out new stuff -- only place to get them is at the restaurant/tasting room) I think we picked a pretty good place to move to.  |

ALes! I like Ale! actually I prefer wine. tried any good ones lately?
today... hmm...
today is saturday. the day I catch up on housework. ho hum. I think Rind and I have a date set for a backgammon tournament though! oh I know. how boring. but boring is good. keeps me out of trouble. we have a dog. a puppy who chews everything. her name is Abby. she's a blue healer. real good with the baby and everything if we could just get her to quit chewing everything! so. today. I am cleaning up after a puppy and a 2 year old... ah! the joys of parenthood. how's everyone?

a puppy and a 2 year-old! that's like having two babies -- twins ;D you won't be bored!
as for wine... well.. we haven't done the local tasting thing -- kind of intimidating how much is in the area (we're only a couple hours from Napa Valley & that whole big CA wine scene). Mostly we're into Chile wine right now. I still like the S. African, but my hubby isn't so fond of it & we both like Spanish -- can you tell? we like cheap stuff (that still tastes good!)
today....
I wandered the farmer's market & got seduced into buying more local organic oranges when I already had a counter full of citrus fruit at home!
Ate some fresh, hot vegetarian tamales & wandered over to a hardware/cooking store & bought myself a mixer and a coffee-grinder for seeds & spices & NOT coffee!!!
(I sure hope my hubby keeps his hands off it -- but he was already drooling, so I suppose I'll have to go get another for him & his coffee if I want to protect my new one's coffee-free status!)
... took an unintended nap &... got on here (before heading to Guild Wars -- man that game is addicting!

wow. you're family sure does eat stuff I have never even THOUGHT of... you've GOT to teach me how it's done! well... today, I got up went to work came home ate dinner and went to bed... not before typing this message though! my hubby has to spend the night at work tonight, so I think I will go to bed early. (I hate how the Navy can just tell him he has to do that, and there's nothing he can do about it. BUT. the schooling he's getting through the navy is second to none. so. I won't complain too much)  |

I drove around Chico & Paradise looking at houses for sale. It's tempting to get a place in Paradise just so I can say I live in Paradise!
Yesterday we drove past Paradise & got into the snow.... lovely snow.... If it's gonna get all cloudy on me, I'd rather it snow than rain!
The road was narrow, twisting and winding in between the tall Ponderosa Pines. It was still snowing gently. The dark red trunks rose abruptly from a thick blanket of snow, nearly a foot deep and almost deep enough for X-country skiing, even under the trees!
Dark green branches hung low across the road, heavily laden with snow, and every few minutes a load would drop and the suddenly lighter limb would spring into the air, shaking more snow onto the branches and road below. Perfect snowball fight weather!
Back down in the valley it rained again today.... 46 degrees, grey and rainy. hmmmmm.... maybe I ought to jump in the car & go visit Magic Muffin! She's bound to have some sun down her way!
