Do faceless potions work now? wow my first question and I dont have an answer! I will venture into the mountains and buy one and try it out, but my guess is that is a bug that will be fixed with the next update (coming soon to a computer near you!) so I will get back to you on this one. jtg

Dear Torra I heard you may need some soap in there too, will see what I cna do for you! Well fame and favor differ. Fame is how many big baddies you have killed, and Favor how well you kiss up tot he Queen and other Nobles. What I recomend is figuring out the number of mingles you need each day to "stay put" on the Favor list and mingle that much everyday, then go questing after the biggest and baddest monsters you can handle. Myself, I alternate between my questing as such . .I have 224 quests at max . . will spend all my quests mingling to gain favor, fame takes a big hit will mingle 50 or so quests then go to Azteca and kill kill kill decide to kill dragons and get 100 rope and kill ti no rope left or I get mezzed by one then mingle some and quest Azteca mingle a 100 or so quests, then evil fred must die!! this is a good combo for both since you get great fame from killing evil fred and then get good favor in the court. You can better your chances by having high end weapons and armour to increase your attack/defense/skill so try to upgrade anything you can! I have played with a "popular" item when mingling but I am unsure as yet how much if any this helps with Favor hope this helps JTG

Thanks JTG (and could you hurry up with that soap and I would like to have some anti fungal on hand for when Zilla sto(m)ps by ;D) Hermione posted previously that you lose 5% of your favor per day.....is this still true? I'm trying to figure out how low I can get on the Favor list before I lose a rank? any concrete figures on that....I heard it was 6500 but don't want to risk it as that effects our clan ranking But I want to get in the top 10 for Fame....as it seems the only chance I have have to hit the top 10.... ;D

Hi again Torra I DONT know on the %5 favor loss, but I do know that you lose 10% of your base fame just for waking up! In regards to total favor, I thnk you have to get below 1000 before you drop, and then you can drop hard! off to the store for some soap . . . . jtg

Ok I have a question... or a few, rather:
1. Mandrake and Ginseng Roots. Are they worth keeping? I saw what their purpose is according to the clan's main website, but I don't see why they would be useful. Elaboration on why these should be kept/stored?
2. Guild abilities. Well I'm mostly raising fighter... but I saw people have some in more than just one Guild. Should I raise my mage and trader and whatnot? What's the ideal skill set for my level?
3. I seem to wear out all of my Faeries very quickly because I end up getting Mesmerized by random creatures. What's the best way to keep from being Mesmerized? I ended up running out of Faeries at one point the other day and died, losing quite a bit of stuff. (Didn't realize my faeries were fully depleted) I know it's a match between you and the monsters wits or something, but is there a way around that?

Hi ya Kilomon!! Well i shall address each of your quetions seperately 1. Mandrake and Ginseng Roots. Are they worth keeping? I saw what their purpose is according to the clan's main website, but I don't see why they would be useful. Elaboration on why these should be kept/stored? mandrakes and ginseng, mandrakes no longer give you extra quests, ( I was former drake junkie LOL) but they do give extra beserkers at the cost of 3 wits per use! but dont despair, you ge the lost wits back the next day(whew!) and they heal like 100guts ( not too sure on this, will have to hurt and eat one !) Ginseng gives you more "uses" in battle. say you are fighting a dragon with 1000 guts, and you can only do 250 damage, well eat a mess of ginseng, say 20, and then use 20 blast powders doing 1200 damage to the bugger!! (blast does 120 per) next thing you know you are counting gold and picking up dragon scales! 2. Guild abilities. Well I'm mostly raising fighter... but I saw people have some in more than just one Guild. Should I raise my mage and trader and whatnot? What's the ideal skill set for my level? I recommend a balance here. stop your fighter guilds before 15-18 and no more than 14 mage guilds really are needed, trader is always good for backstabs AND swindles, Sage will help you "forsee" when a critter tries to mezz you. now there is also Ietsu attack from the Samurai in Shangala, a very effective devastating first strike attack. Try to balance your total guild to get the most bang for your buck, the more options you have in battle the better off you are in the long run. 3. I seem to wear out all of my Faeries very quickly because I end up getting Mesmerized by random creatures. What's the best way to keep from being Mesmerized? I ended up running out of Faeries at one point the other day and died, losing quite a bit of stuff. (Didn't realize my faeries were fully depleted) I know it's a match between you and the monsters wits or something, but is there a way around that?[/quote] Ah good ole fairies !! Faries are my friends! I try to put all my stuff that I dont absolutely need questing in storage, (put it all back in the pack at the end of the day so the greater blessing protects it from rust) and I go out with 3-4 frys and then the healing agents i might need. this does two things, keeps you on your toes and gives more room in your pack for loot! if you die questing you know about it, mark off one fry! if you get mezzed and dont die then check your pack!! the critter may have took half your gear so you gotta check and make sure you have your insurance policy uptodate, Bottled Faries!! some monsters are more prone to mezzing than others, Pandas, Medusas, mermaids, and jags are the worst! but forget harpies and ninjas too! look at the beasties with really high wits and choose a special attack for them, I prefer backstab on jags, and flirting whenever I can with medusas and mermaids, try to hel the panda and she refuses . .. run away! you get the quest back! Well I hope that helps you out and write again if you need, dot forget to post in the Medic hall to get some replacement frys justthisguy

Don't forget the jaguars give you a feeding option. If you feed them and they wander off after, you get some experience points, a chance at gaining a charm, AND your quest back. If you have a sage skill left, and they attack after eating, well, if they try to mezz you then, you're not using another guild skill, so you'll foresee the mez attempt and foil it. Just a little addendum! ooh! thanks Hermi!! jtg

Ok,,,you know when you get mezzed off a Jag, sometimes you die and have to use a fry, sometimes it just says something mad like you are collecting posies, anyway, when the latter happens you don't lose any equip or goods, so are you losing favour or fame?

how to get to high fame you spend all your quests killing evil fred or the dragon. those two net the highest fame per kill. Evil fred is closest tot he town, only two clicks the dragon can take up to 10 clicks to get to the first, some days I kill EF and will rack up like 2-3k fame jtg

I'm pretty sure you lose fame. you lose fame by running away or getting 'beat' by the monster & that would qualify as getting beat by the monster. I think you can only lose favour through the court stuff & the bit you lose each time you log in.

Hey, I was wondering where the next place is to go after the Mtns. Should I go to the docks or keep trying to get paste the dragon in the Abandoned Mine in the Mtns. Also is there anyway to get my guts, wits, charm really fast? I think I read something about a bushido token giving you 100 or each is that a lore or what?

That's myth. Bushido tokens let you learn the (guild) skill "ietsu" which is like a first-turn berzerk. They're found from Shoguns in Shangri la, and used by them, too. After the mountains, try the castle dungeon. If that's too easy for you, try the docks. The dragon is the hardest creature in the game, so if you can beat him, go exploring wherever you want! Did you ever explore the Goblin Mounds, off the field? If you haven't, yet, know that they're open and probably fairly easy for you. The first time I played DC, I skipped them entirely.
