Junk? dump it....use it?

I see there is a big push to dump junk again. I have played for quite a while and have seen both sides of this debate several times. I somewhat consider myself a vet now.

I have mixed feelings about it. When I first started I had to sell good items I found for junk to have currency to trade with. So the vets then.....get the good items and trade 'hacked' junk at that time. Now there are new/different 'hacked' junk to trade with that has basically been distributed or newly hacked...whatever.

From what I can tell.....junk...hacked or not is always part of the game. I have LOTS of it...but normally try and trade in weapons/armor for the same. I usually use it...junk to convert into marks for queens blesing or sometimes DSJ's.

Not slamming on the vets...but it always seems that whatever the push is at the time to get rid of, is always going to benifit the vet trader that has converted whatever the push is to get rid of into what is hot at the time.

When I first started.....100 frys would get you a nice item....now 100 frys is not worth messing with. And I also think the wheel when there were silvers just flooded the market with silvers...so they are not worth as much...but now being weeded out thru players quiting.

Well, I ended up with something like 90,000 faeries all at once. I've gotten rid of more than half by sending 50 - 100 out to MOSTLY newbies. As I find likely candidates via peering, which I fund by buying opals in the mountains with money made by selling junk, I keep sending out more.
That's mostly my method of dealing with it. Faeries are too useful to simply dump, but it's true you can use up far more than you can find if you play riskily. So...
I also am now trying not to trade with it.
It's just a matter of balance. One of the ways to use it up is in trading on the behalf of the newbies who don't have access to things.

Well I just dump it. I like your idea hermione, and I'm glad you don't send too much per person. That's another fear of mine, that it'll get harder to dump because of thousands of frys that have been sent, at least a thousand per person, out to tons of players. Now there are plenty of players who have one, two, three, even up to seven or eight thousand faerys. That makes the whole system screwy, cause they'll be "richer" with all those faerys, but because of all the faerys that were given to so many, they're really not, since everybody has a couple thousand faerys, at least, now.

Well, one of the people I'd first sent some to has now told me she's used them all up (lol) so, I think we're pretty good in that regard. But it's easiest when you choose people who don't trade!
