I do like David Brin, though, thanks that was a great tip. Okay, wait, what was the name of the newest recommendation? Bah, I can't hit 'back' and check until I finish typing and post this, how aggravating. A repentative man? I think it'd be more accurate if you took the 'n' out, hee hee hee! (well, okay, and a few other tweaks, but you get the notion) Eddings is pretty good too -I LOVED the line in whichever (Belgariad?) when he talks about how excited he was at proving that 3+3=6 after only a century or two. Ha ha ha, that was great! Terry Goodkind's pretty fun too, at least, isn't he the fellow that did A Wizard's First Rule? Oh, and did anyone mention Fred Saberhagen?

i just read through this and forgot now who mentioned it, but something mentioned simon green (i think) - has anybody read the deathstalker books? thought they were amazing, bought the first one then went out and bought the rest and devoured them in days... piers anthony is also engrossing, the incarnations of immortality series, xanth is funny but gets old after a while, but the ioi series blew my mind when i first read it, such a great concept.. WoT is wonderful, i went through a very poor period and had to end up selling most my books so i don't have the series anymore, however, once the last book comes out it's off to the used book store to buy them all back (heh) to read them all over and then read the last one.. so excited, i can't wait. started when there were only.. 8 or 9, can't even remember.

There's a Piers Anthony duo somewhere with this intergalactic dentist. It's a marvelously funny spin on the whole alien-abduction thing -the Earth dentist gets abducted because one of the aliens has a toothache and it's a long way home. Simon Green is marvelous! I have to admit I like his Fisher & Hawke series best, especially Blue Moon Rising or whatever that was, the first one before they have their new names of Fisher and Hawke. And his John Taylor series is brilliant. Well, the man can write, what can I say?
