Dolmine stares at it. Well, she could work with this.
"Okay, how good are you at estimating distances? Could you tell me approximately how long it would have taken you to reach the landmarks you saw, and which direction they were in? If we know where they're going, maybe we can get some information from a local and figure out an ambush. I bet they aren't traveling very fast, not with a prisoner. Besides, they're on foot, aren't they? And we still have the great hulking beasties, at the other end of the tunnel we took!"

"Distances??? Oh hmmm - I mean I know how far I can hit someone with my claw. I just had to adjust to your scales. But I think it's a pretty good estimation. And I'm not too bad with directions - you need that in the dark, you know... Hmm - the first two landmarks seem pretty good pointed, then we went for 20 minutes and had a rest. I tried to go through the stuff of Tsevelanth there, but it was impossible. Then we went on for about 5 minutes before the way breaks away from his initial direction...
And yes - they are on foot!"
The look of Kala was very satisfied, but somehow he knew that especially the distances where only roughly estimated. But with enough luck, they were right...

Geoffry walked over to Victrirose and relieved her of the wine skin. He tipped back and had a good swallow. The wine was pretty good so he found a cup and poured some to ease his pains and nerves. He wlaked over and looked over Kala as he scrawled the marks on Dolime's map. "Well it is a start. We will leave at first light. The only problem we have is the remainder of these elves. Any suggestions? I don't think we want them alerting the others that we are following, although it is no secret that we on our way to Elneth, the question is, was their path towards Elneth or in another direction?"

Garrelous listened intently, he now believed the death of the great viking had galvenised them and he was sure they would be greater then the sum od thier parts, he sat sharpening his sword, letting the others decide for him for once.

Finished with her weapons and scowling, Elsa came over to the group. She pondered the map and said, "I can send a hawk at daybreak to scout what direction they are headed in."

"Hmm yeah - I like birds... Rest is good, do we need a watch? I could take the first turn as I could sleep in the battle night and don't need too much sleep."

"That's fine with me, Kala. I'll be up at dawn to dispatch the scout," Elsa said. She was so tired. She went to a corner, slumped down against the wall and pulled her hood over her head. A soft snoring soon came from her direction.

Geoffry too was tired. " I doubt we need a watch tonight. The rest of the elven guards have that duty. HA! "I also doubt that any of us will sleep that soundly and deeply either. Lets all just go to sleep. We need the rest. I am glad the elves had already gotten our horses from where we entered the tunnel and brought them here. It saves us at least an hour of back tracking." With that said he went to his packs and got his bedroll and found a suitable loccation to sleep. Not far from the still burnig pyre, yet far enough to not be scorched if the wind shifted.

Dolmine was happy to return to her interrupted slumber, but left the map (and water soluble ink) out for Elsa to add to -when or if she needed.

Kala hadn't a good sleep. He always woke up and thought about the adventure ahead. One time he stood up and went looking around. It seemed to him that the Elven guards had disappeared, but he didn't pay too much attention. The Pyre was just one big heap of glow and he enjoyed for a moment watching it. Then he turned and went sleeping again.
Just when the first light hit the village he was awake again and began preparing breakfast. It was a good meal he prepared - he even took some coffee out of his bag and put it on the still warm heap. Then he just waited until the rest awoke and the adventure would begin.

Elsa was dreaming. She was in the old woods drinking coffee with some deer. The deer were having trouble holding onto their coffee cups and Elsa was laughing... ...then she awoke with a start. Was that real coffee she smelled? She saw that it was but first she went outside and after a cautious look around, gave a strange piercing cry. A winged shape appeared in the cool dawn and descended to a fence post near Elsa. She focused upon the hawk, impressing in its mind what it would be looking for. With a farewell cry, the hawk flew high into the sky and away. She came back in and squatted down next to Kala. "So..."she asked companionably,"What's for breakfast?" By way of contributing, she set out some fresh berries she'd picked from some vines growing along the fence posts.

Garrelous drank down the wonderful thick coffee. He was eager now, they had wasted too much time on being sidetracked. Thier group was down to but a loyal few, so many had gone now and he wondered where, but it was time to make haste. He was sure if anyone stood in his way now it would not be pleasant for them

"The coffee was set on the pyre, so we all will get some of the power and guts Doom had!" Kala told the others.
"But I think we have to wake up the rest, so we can go. Elsa, how long your friend has to do his job?" Kala asked - carefully choosing his words so no outsider could understand.

Elsa took a swallow of coffee and chewed on some berries. "He flies pretty fast...he has instructions to return as soon as he sees them. No loitering about catching rabbits." She continued drinking her coffee and idly stirred up some embers with a stick.

Returning from its mission, the Hawk perched on Elsa's extended arm and stared intently into her eyes. The images it shared with her were of a large manor with beautiful and extensive gardens. The gaurds were dragging Tsevelanth up to another elf, older than him and smaller, but with a familial resemblance. The older elf waved his hand casually and Tsevelanth and he stopped struggling and went stiff. The elf then walked up to him and took a ring off his hand, examined it, and then angrily threw to the ground, shouting, while Tsevelanth, apparantly not actually affected by the other's magic started chuckling. The elf shouted some more and motioned for the gaurds to drag him off. Left pacing alone in the courtyard, the elf suddenly looked sharply up at the hawk, directly into its eyes. A sinister grin spread across his face and the vision ended abruptly, violently knocking Elsa on her back.

Geoffry woke to the stirrings in the camp, most notably the cry of the hawk as it took wing. He crawled out of his bedroll and made it ready for travel before joining the others around Kala's coffee. "I like that thought Kala. . . . getting some of Doom's power and guts!!" HE chuckled at the thought with a decidedly sinister grin on his face. He next got his honing stones out and set to working on his blades.
He saw the hawk return and peer into Elsa's eyes. When she was knocked back he jumped up in alarm and cast about for the assailant.

Dolmine sleepily sat up at all the commotion. "Wh-what?" Blearily looking around, she noticed Elsa on the ground, a seemingly stunned bird beside her. She jumped up, looking around for Doc before rushing over to the sleeping gnome. "Wake up, Doc! Elsa needs you!" Then she turned to Victoria Rose. "Maybe you can go into her head, find out what's wrong?"

"I suppose she will be fine" Kala said without showing any emotion
"I think that it was just a warning-shot from a really ugly mage. But we could use a helper to wake her up. So Doc please go look after her and use a little of your medicine."
"I'll take care of the falcon..." With these words he takes the bird with a quick grab that takes the bird by surprise. Then he petted and hugged the bird and always whispered to him with a soft voice - skillfully avoiding the claws and beak. Soon enough the falcon calmed down and sat beneath Kala, watching Elsa closely.
