Well, actually, this new method is better, really, since everyone can participate equally and learn of new fun groups, too. So, nope, carry on! (and if you've never heard Balafon, go check them out!)

Thought I'd wake this back up...
If I had to pick a few songs to take with me to a desert island, it would include these:
The Guess Who - "Runnin' Back To Saskatoon", the version from "Live at the Paramount"
Little Feat - pretty much the whole "Let It Roll" album
The Band - "The Weight" and "Up on Cripple Creek"
Jane's Addiction - "Been Caught Stealing"
CSNY - "Woodstock"
The Grateful Dead - A number of tracks from "Touch of Grey"
Blind Melon - "No Rain"
Eric Burdon - "Spill the Wine"
CCR - "Born on The Bayou"
Stevie Wonder - "I Wish"
Steely Dan - "Deacon Blues", "FM", "Babylon Sister"
The Doors - "L.A. Woman"
Rolling Stones - "Sympathy For The Devil", "Emotional Rescue"
Van Morrison - "Moondance"
Jimi Hendrix - "Crosstown Traffic" and "Hey Joe" (the Noel Redding bass line is amazing!)

Gotta check Saffie's recommendations. There's a jammer, Irish. I always loved to see Iron Butterfly come up on the playlist when I was a rock jock. 17:05 playtime IIRC. More than enough time to get a cup of coffee or a bathroom break before you had to segue to the next song. It's almost guaranteed back in the day if you heard "Freebird", "Stairway To Heaven", "Working Man", "Bohemian Rhapsody" or similarly long songs on the air the DJ was smoking, making coffee or peeing. ;D Harder when I was working for the oldies station - everything is 3 minutes. You hope for "American Pie" or "Edmund Fitzgerald". Of course, now it doesn't matter. It's all digital, and songs auto-segue using inaudible tones. You can run the whole set, even pre-record the breaks, and spend the entire shift cutting commercials or whatever. Heck, I prerecorded an entire afternoon shift once (a practice called voice-tracking) so I could go wait tables at a charity event. The intern just shuffled tapes. It was fun asking people for their order at the same time my voice is coming out of the radio. Talk about double-takes. Is it live or is it Memorex? ;D
