As so many of the old Gryffindor members are now playing Guild Wars, I suppose it is fitting that the first link to another game is that one.
www.guildwars.com/gameplay/synopsis/
will take you to a page with a general description and a side menu bar you can explore for more information.
Guild Wars is not free, in the sense that you have to buy the game (aprox $30), but it is free after that --- once you buy it, there are no connect charges or on-going charges.
You can pick up a game at Walmart, Target, Best Buy... or download it from the web. The on-line store often has sales (to make up for the fact that you don't get a CD or manual -- manual doesn't have much in it, so you don't miss much there.)
The first edition is Prophecies, then there is Factions, and Nightfall (each costs more $$). You DON'T need more than one. There are also a couple expansions -- again NOT needed!!! (mostly for hard-core addicts).
You need a computer that can handle graphics (doesn't have to be new -- website will tell you requirements) and a fast internet connection -- dial-up won't work.
When you buy Guild Wars, you will get an account with a password. You can then log in from any computer (but it takes a LONG time to download if no files are on the computer to start with!!!).
If you do decide to try it out --- be sure to tell us & we'd love to have you in our guild!!! (Potter is leader -- though with a different character name) Just hit N and a menu of friends will pop up --- add us as friends & you can whisper us when we are on line (and we can quest together ):
Hermione = Lady of Insanity
Cynder = Twylla Night
Hope to see a few of you there.
(*yes... Hermione... N -- not F - and I didn't change my keyboard shortcuts -- I just mistyped -- but I changed it here so folks won't get confused)
