For every fighter skill you have, you get +1 attack, For every trader skill you get +1 defense, Mage maybe gives you more skill . You also get the corresponding ability: Fighter=berzerk, Mage=mesmerize, etc). And, for every 4 fighter skills you get +1 item use per fight. Same for every 5 trader skills and for every 6 mage skills. More mage skill lets you use gems for effects like curing or blasting. I don't really know the extra benefits of Sage, though.

You don't puchase Ietsu, you go quest in Shangri La a bunch, and eventually a Samurai, if you're lucky, will drop a Bushido Token (or maybe you can trade for one). Then, next time a Samurai shows up (and you can quest there for days and not get a Samurai in the first place, although I literally got two ietsus by complete accident) you'll have an extra option below "Run like the furies" or whatever it is. Anyway, the new option will be "Present Token". So you choose that, and sometimes it will knock it out of your hand and smash it to pieces and then attack you, and you have to start over, and sometimes it will take it, and teach you the ietsu skill -which is only a bezerk on the first turn, and it takes away 2 or 3 of everything, I forget, but frankly once I figured out what I was doing I quit because I don't think they're much use. Although if you're building up a fighter type, go for it.

Hah, Cynder just explained to me that the whole "Noble, sage, trader, warrior, merchant" or whatever the choices were, were about the very begining set-up of your character, when you could choose to start out with one of the skills, or a title. So I have to take back whatever I said before... I started all my characters using up the 'points' on stats. So, "None of the above!" Yeah. Going back to our regular schedule of irrelevance... Anyone know what the deal is with faceless potions? Are they still kaput?

HMMMM... well I just made a name called "GryffindorGifts" And it should only take him 2 or three days to get enough money to enter the castle. After that he will have a package with 100m marks in it from my main character. So if you guys want, you could send giveaway items to "GryffindorGifts" and we could have a massive giveaway. Just at thought. Let me know what you think.

I started out wanting all traders & Mages, but the game isn't set up to make that realistic...if they don't trade all you can do is kill them If you just run away you lose fame...EEK So all four of my characters are high on fighter skills and trader skills...and since the change i've been accumulating mostly sage skills. Two of my characters are Old: Earl Torra Earl Phooey Two are new (as the reaper got the others): Amazon Maka1 Dame Hosa1

Isn't there some sort of formula that you want your skills to be able to be divided by???
fighter by 4 wizard by 6 trader by 5
You gain a 'use'.....whatever the definition of use is.

There used to be, yes. But it doesn't work any more! We were discussing that earlier. No one's figured out yet how the current uses are determined. I haven't gained a use yet with any of my characters since the upgrade. Sigh.
