Well......I am sure your going to hear different ways to raise the #'s...but I don't know of a sure fire way other than playing the game. And here is a site that has an enchanting calculator. www.libanza.com/enchanting/ench.htm

an exhalt/charm for you, fireheart! (wish more folks would put up questions)
Short answers:
enchant scrolls = (3 x attack) + (2 x defense) + skill
Guts: 1) attack & kill creatures 2) use berserk to kill creatures 3) use backstab to kill creatures 4) game in castle (after guts = 150... 200 is even better)
Wits: 1) help creatures & answer riddles 2) Mez creatures 3) Dice in castle (start with 10k marks) 4) run from the right creatures (ask Hermione for list)
Charm: 1) seduce/flirt with creatures 2) feed creatures 3) backstab & swindle creatures 4) mingle in castle (or boast if charm = 200 or more)
TMI answers: enchanting: each equip can accept 1 bless, 1 glow, 1 luck, 1 flame and as many enchant scrolls as it has power.
equip power = (3 x base attack) + (2 x base defense) + base skill
luck & flame only work on right hand weapons (or both hand). You can put them on others, but they won't do anything for stats.
Most folks don't like flame & glow because serpents & worms eat glowing/flaming equip. If you don't kill the monster, you lose your equip & if you do get it back, it's rusted (unless you have it well-oiled). Lowers trade value, too.
Guts: It is easier to gain guts by attacking & killing creatures when the char is lower level & has fewer guts -- not sure about how the formula works.
Using Berserks to kill (fighter guild skills) used to up odds of gaining guts 5x, not sure if that is still true. Not sure if ietsu gives any increase in gut gaining -- hasn't seemed to work that way for me, but....
Trader guild skills give backstabs and swindles. If you successfully backstab, it increase odds of gaining a gut (or a charm, or one of each -- used to be 3x more likely).
The other gut gainer is to game in the court in the castle. This usually doesn't work too well until after you have 150 guts. It is usually possible to get several guts if you use all your quests up that way.
Gaming has 5 possible outcomes & the bottom two (where you take damage or you know they are lying to you) you lose favor & there is no chance of gaining guts. That's why Gaming works bet when you already have guts!
Wits: Best way is to successfully help creatures, answer riddles & mez creatures. (Mage guild skills give mesmerize uses).
Running from certain creatures gives the chance for a wit (but not all! & running lowers fame so.... this isn't a favored method to gain wits.) I think the creatures you can run & gain wits from are generally the ones who can mez you. Wyvern in Mountains, Harpies in Hie Brasil... (anyone know the exact list?)
Dicing in the castle also gives wits. There are 5 outcomes & 'Success' (defined as gaining money) depends on your wits + Trader guild skills & money in your backpack.
The bottom two outcomes lose money & gain favor with no chance at wits & no XP. The more money in your backpack, the more likely it is to lose money. When you break even, you have the best chance of gaining wits, you get the most favor & some XP. The top two outcomes gain you money, favor (more money = less favor), less chance for wits & some XP.
Charm: Successfully seduce/flirt with creatures and feeding them gains charm. Feeding sometimes gives you your quest back, too. Successfully backstabbing or swindling creatures (trader guild skills) used to increase odds of getting charm 3x.
Mingling & Boasting in the castle can earn charm. Stats seem to improve much faster questing at the lower levels than spending time in the castle, but once it slows down.... these become good options.
Bottom 2 outcomes for both have no chance of gaining charm. Middle is most likely to earn charm.
The more charm & mage guild skills you have, more likely you are to get higher outcomes with Mingling. Boasting is charm & fighter guild skills. Boasting also runs the risk of losing 1/2 the money you have in your backpack, so don't try it with much in there!
Since they both have the same possibilities for charm, I wouldn't boast at all if charm is your goal. The only reason to Boast is you can gain favor faster if you have lots of charm (over 200) and lots of fighter guild skills and if you don't take in much money. (But everytime you lose money, you just lost 1/2 your favor so....)
Mingling & Boasting earn more favor the lower rank you are. (I've known folks to mingle their character up to the 9100 favor needed for Seneschal before doing any petitions to the Queen just to take advantage of this.)
.........Hope this helps........

for a long range plan that will preserve your rank, fame & favor & build wits & charm:
Alternate days --- 1 day: use up all your quests adventureing Next day: use up all your quests in the castle
For Castle days... Use 1/2 quests on dicing (instructions follow) Switch to mingling. Mingle until you only have 20 quests left. Use last 20 quests to game (to keep your favor up)
Dicing..... 1. Start with 10k marks in your pack & start dicing 2. If you get down to 1k, go to storage & get more marks 3. Eventually you will probably get up in marks & then reach a point where you go up & down. When that happens, go dump marks into storage back to the 10k.
(you want to be either gaining marks or staying even for a chance for a wit. When you lose marks, you have no chance for wits)
You'll be losing favor, but by gaming the last 20 quests, you should break even or even go up in favor slightly.
Or.... my favorite method for building chars: 1. start questing -- answer or help whenever possible & use all your backstabs & mez skills up 2. spend rest of time in castle (dice until last 25-30 quests & mingle those) 3. Monitor lists when you quit for the day... 'Rank' will tell you your favor -- if it starts dropping, you have enough guts to push it up pretty quick by gaming in the castle.
I created Flither that way (now level 31 with 4 fighter, 48 mage, 5 trader, 3 sage, 1 ietsu) She's got aprox. 370 guts, 560 wits, 290 charm. I focused on wits 'cause I needed an enchanter & diced each day after using up my mez skills (I game for last 20 quests now, but I used to mingle for last 20 quests).
Cynder is a level 32 fighter (12 fighter, 12 mage, 15 trader, 8 sage, 17 ietsu) With aprox. 580 guts, 380 wits, 250 charm. Cynder didn't do much dicing, though... She just got wits from answering, helping & mezing.

couple of questions
1. Crystal Chucks....are the made or found?
2. Can someone explain the math formula on weapons? I see how some of the players (Vert, Jack, Blood..etc) can tell if a weapon is 'right' by the stats using some fomula. IE: it is ok...cause it is 2.3 x base.....etc.
What is the starting point....etc.

The guys who know weapons are using the avg stats of a weapon & looking at the ratios. It's a little tricky 'cause of the negatives & such, but if you a sample you know is good & this list....
These are some avg stats from Vertigo (Thanks Vert!!!)

ok....going to show my age on this question.
I see people on W & W site....find a new high stat or really good item....they somehow paste a copy of the Dragon Court screen.
How do you go about doing this???....pretty good way to verify/authenticate (if that is a word) items.
Also....on that list of average weapons...then they just do the 2.1, 2.4, 2.9, 3.1 etc.....varible on all the stats of the weapon to make sure it is legite?

I don't know how most people do it, but I can only do it with weapons I know the pattern for. Like with DSJ's, if you know ANY stat that is "Right" you can see if any others are because the defense goes up by eight, and the skill by 2 (for instance, 112d -22s, 120d -20s, 128d -18s, 136d -16s, etc.) For sea slippers, pattern used to be, the skill was ten times the defense, and the defense would go up by ones. The new ones, I'm still getting used to those. I do know that now it's easier to see the pattern on them when they're fully enchanted (the final attack will always equal whatever the original defense is, but I haven't really bothered to find out what the whole pattern is.)
Of course, I only note things when they're obvious enough to jump out at me and I don't really check things very often so I'm not a good one to ask. Where IS Vertigo? If he can do this stuff, he ought to be able to explain HOW he does it!

Yesterday I found an AC with blast on it, enchanted and sent to my alt - today I spent all alt's quests and KABOOM didn't appear? Any ideas why? Or what am I doing wrong?

Someone is going to have to answer this better than me......but seems like if your attack is over a certain number and I wanna say that is 120..the blast never takes affect.
Which makes me wonder why lets say....a 160 ac.....would blast EVER take affect?

Interestingly the enchanted attack number is 117, which is lower than the one you mentioned. But if you are right, that's very wierd...

What is your char's total attack? Even when your total attack is less than 120, the KABOOM doesn't always appear. Not sure what determines it..... Maybe Vert knows. Kinda like when you have a weapon with disease -- you can hit the creature & it doesn't always get sickened.

If your total attack is over 120 then blast will occationally take place, however it is completely for show. If it is over 120a then you get more attack from your original weapon, so the blast is just for show or value. For example decent matchlock rifles have no impact from the blast.
Disease has random effect on your opponent's skill. It has no basis in your stats/the weapons stats/ etc.

Help!!! Loosing fame like serial killer with garlic breath I keep waking up to "The Queen Misses you...Blah Blah Blah" So I've been spending precious quests dicing and mingling at the end of the day and today, I swear, that after spending 50 quests at the castle my rank is lower than it was yesterday!!! What up? I'm hovering @ the low 6K in rank. Is it because I'm dicing and winning $ Help!

Stop Dicing! I learned tha' winning even once in Dicing will kill yer rank. i mingle and play games rarely do i boast, cause if ya cause a disturbance the queen yanks yer pack and marks and evicts ya.

Thank's Irish, I'm trying to break the top 10 in Fame but the darned Queen keeps "missing me" and my rank doesn't really interest me but the clan gets more points for my character if I'm a senachal.
So, no more dicing for me!!!
