SuperBattler slams into Frizelious. Only Garrumph's firm grip prevents Frizelious from being knocked over.
Blacksky grabs SuperBattler just as the air begins to blow. It is immediately clear that unless SuperBattler and Blacksky close the gap between their bodies and the group, they will be airborne. (If they act fast - they can do this!)
Coal's cloak billows out behind him, threatening to lift him into the air. Garrumph's firm grip keeps him anchored to the group, but his feet are barely keeping contact with the ground.
Sandwiched by Garrumph and SuperBattler, Frizelious not only keeps to his feet, but his feet stay on the gidwork. He feels curiously light, however. Garrumph feels the tug from Coal's battle with his cloak, but with Frizelious's help is able to keep her feet on the ground.
<Frizelious deduces that the small protection from the wind granted by the contact his feet make on the grid is vitally important. Were he to lift a foot, it just might be enough to destablize the situation and send them all into the air.>

"Right everyone, I think any of the holes is as good as another, we must make our way to the side, when the air hits, all sit tight, when the grid glows, we have six seconds to shuffle to the side"

The glow winks out and the air stops moving. Your eyes, adjusted to the slight light of the glowing grid, can see nothing in the sudden darkness, but at least you are on your feet!
Frizelious is in the middle of the bunch. Three people hold on to him; SuperBattler, Blacksky and Garrumph. SuperBattler and Blacksky are close enough to each other to be able to hang on to both Frizelious and each other. Garrumph is hanging onto Frizelious and to Coal. Coal would have to move slightly to be able to hang on to more than one person. Depending on which way Coal moves, he can latch onto either SuperBattler or Blacksky (while still retaining a hold on Garrumph).
As you adjust to increased weight that comes when the wind ceases, you hear a hear a muffled thud from above your head. It is followed by a soft, "Ow!" and another thud and then a voice... perhaps P'yorn's? calls out, "Watch out below! .... uh.... sorry about that!"
The grid begins to glow.....

As the grid begins to glow, Garumph yells "This way!" and to show which way, she leans just a little on Frizelious to the direction she wants to head while at the same time gently yanking the others in the same direction, not so much to move them but to get them moving on their own in the same direction.

Coal moves and tries to grab Blacksy with the free hand, still holding firmly onto Garrumph...
He concentrates on the holes (which he sees in the slight glow again), just wondering which of the 7 would go down and which gu up. He doesn't care about the 2 going around and looks fearless for the 7th hole - where he senses his own death.
We'll have to choose, but for now I first have to know where these d***** holes lead...

Frizelious allows Garrumph to lead towards the edge of the grid and possible safety, he holds on to the group as they shuffle as far as they can before needing to remain stationary when the air hits again

The group shuffles toward the cavern wall. The keen-sensed in the group hear several bumps & soft thuds from above.
The group makes about 15 feet before the wind starts. Coal, now firmly anchored on two sides, can feel his cloak billow out behind him, but it no longer pulls him from his feet. Everyone has such a good grip on their companions that all keep to their feet with no trouble.
There is a definite sideways push to the air. The person (as determined by Garrumph) in the lead feels the wind on their face and a bit of a lift. The last person in the group and Frizelious feel very little lift and no sideways motion (except pull from the others). The last two feel slightly lighter & pushed a little sideways.
The air stops and you hear behind you several thuds as some rocks and debris hit the center of the cavern floor.

Still concentrating on the holes Kala is happy his cloak can't lift him anymore.
"Count me in with anything that might bring us out of here!!!"

We must keep moving, we'll take whatever opening we hit first, its better than being crushed by those rocks

By standing still while the wind blows and moving whenever the grid glows, the group gradually makes its way over to the side of the cavern. Each time the wind stops, they can hear the debris hitting the ground behind them -- further and further away and fewer and fewer thuds as if there is less and less debris.
As you near the cavern walls, you can see that there is a nice wide strip of ground by the walls that never glows: about the width of a tall man's height. The air is very strong here, by the edge of the grid, and blows at a strong slant toward the center of the cavern.
Two more glows should put you on the non-grid ground.
<Frizelious -- you become aware that there is a faint bluish-white light during the dark periods. It seems to be growing brighter during each dark period.>
<Coal -- you can see the seven holes, but there doesn't seem to be anyway to tell which is which (at least from here). They are evenly spaced and you can't even tell where to start counting -- which doesn't matter 'cause you're pretty sure that the info you got did not relate to any order of the holes, just information about them in general.>

Garrumph ceases her tugging, wondering if she can manage to guide the group or will merely add to the confusion.

"Yep - just take the one you like best!!!" Coal (it's an ancestor of Kala) saya - but now he is quite calm in the face of danger
"But now keep moving... I have a feeling we have to get out of here quickly!!"

The group continues moving in the same direction Garrumph once tugged. Waiting out only one more wind blast, Blacksky, Frizelious, and SuperBattler are on firm ground when the wind starts. They are easily able to pull the other two off the grid.
There is plenty of room to stand two deep and still have no one on the grid and no longer is there any need to hang on to one another.
With the glow of the grid, there is plenty of light (and now) plenty of time to look around. The group stands next to a solid wall between two exits. The walls are rough stone. It looks as if this was a natural cavern with only minimal work done to shape it.
Coal notices a faint, old blood stain on the wall. It trails down the wall and then puddles at the base. A smudged bloodied drag trail leads over to the grid and then disappears.
Blacksky notices there are occasional bat droppings on the ground. They all appear to have been ground into the dusty dirt by careless feet, but it is evidence that bats reside in these caverns, somewhere. You also get the feeling that other animals have been here and their droppings are thoroughly mixed into the dirt. Not enough to make a fertile soil, but it is not sterile either.
Garrumph notices the tracks of many feet, hooves, talons in the soft dry dirt of the cavern flloor. The humans appear to use this cavern edge as a regular path, most of the prints parallel the walls. But the animal tracks go every which way. The dirt appears to be several finger-widths deep on top of a hard, almost smooth rocky base. There is, however, a very slight, unnatural give to the ground that solid rock should not have. It is so subtle, you are sure the others would not notice it. The craggy walls are rough enough to provide handholds for you, an experienced climber, but others would fall.
SuperBattler: looking back, you notice a few rocks of varying shapes and sizes being tumbled about in midair at the center of the cavern. As the wind stops, they fall to the ground, explaining the various knocks and thuds you have continued to hear. The solid ground you are on appears to go the whole distance around the cavern. In some places it appears wider. In fact, you appear to be standing on one of the narrowest portions of the path.
Frizelious: You have had plenty of time to study your surroundings and so notice nothing new, but you do notice that the others are so busy looking around, that they fail to notice they can still see when the glow stops. The light is now fairly constant - only varying between a reddish/yellow glow when the grid is 'on' and a bluish-white glow when the gid is 'off'. You can also see now that the grid is not regular -- it looks more like the surface of pumice or a sponge -- in fact, it looks organic, not man-made.

we must be carefull when climbing. If i can go ahead tonight i could plant vines to help us with handholds. The rock seems strange but might be fertile enough for nice thick vines. It would nearly exhaust my suply if i did them too close together so i mould only be able to do in the hardest places. I know a bit about climbing so i should be ok. All in favor say AYE. I of cours am in favor.

"Hmmm- I'm not too god in climbing, but I wear a rope to hold my cloak at the waist. The cloak was blown, but I'm wearing still the rope around the waist. This might be helpful by climbing. Maybe when someone helps me I can do it - so AYE"
"But have you seen the trail? It might be an option to follow, although the blood doesn't really strengthen the faith in it"
