Frizelious -- The daggers embed themselves in the eye. One more eye out of commision!
SuperBattler[/color] hits the creature in the same place where the armor was already dented. The armor plate breaks and gets wedged in the wound made by SuperBattler's staff.
The creature jerks away from SuperBattler and tries to rise into the air. The slit cut in its side by Frizelious prevents that side from lifting. (The side closest to the companions drags on the ground and the other side lifts into the air a few feet).

SuperBattler's blow is so hard that the staff sinks into the wound and SuperBattler has to wriggle it a couple times just to get it back out. SuperBattler gets his staff out of the wound just in time.....
Frizzelious retrieves his dagger just in time....
The creature begins wildly jerking about. First it flattens itself on the ground, then it hunches up, it spins first one way and then another. The side with the slit drags along the ground, the other side flaps wildly about.
The creature's eyes facing the companions are damaged and blind. The creature's spinning allows it to bring an eye around for a peek at the companions and then it spins back and an eye from the other side swings around for a peek.
The creature attempts to swing its tail at SuperBattler, but the broken tail just drags along the ground and gets stuck between two stalagmites.

Frizelious, with his wonderful (and quick) powers of observation, can see that the creature is not mortally wounded, but is in a lot of pain. Perhaps it would be good to put it out of its misery?

Frizzelius, attacks from the blinded side of the creature, and plunges his daggers deep behind what he perceives as the main eye to the brain

The creature doesn't kill easily! But now it is so clearly in pain that it will be a mercy to kill it.
With numerous blows from Superbattler's mighty staff and with strategically placed stabs from Frizelious's daggers, the huge creature finally dies.
The companions arms are tired, but they have won their first battle together. The ground is messy with acid and dead monster. There is no sign of Coal or Blacksky. Did they get lost amidst the stalagmites?
Garrumph is half-lying, half-propped up against a stalagmite. She appears unconscious.
Now, once again, the companions can hear the drip of water in the distance. All else is silent. The winged creatures appear to have vanished during the fight.
Superbattler -- you see a thin wisp of smoke coming from behind Frizelious. It seems to be coming from his back & the heel of one foot.

As your breathing begins to settle from your exertions, you begin to hear other noises. The water still drips on the left, but you can now hear a distant knocking/clicking/banging from the right and... is that faint voices from ahead?
The path still stretches before you and, as the adreneline begins to settle you realize that the whole battle took very little actual time, just a few minutes. There is still plenty of night left to win the bet.
You know that it is usually single heros that travel the Training Grounds, a group is unusual. Of course, it often takes them days to emerge....
As Frizelious cleans his daggers he notices a slight pitting on them. Good thing he cleaned them, that acid was nasty! The pitting does not seem to have affected the edge or nor do they appear dulled in anyway. But... as he moves, Frizelious notices a wisp of smoke from behind him.

Frizelious sees that the acid is continuing to eat at his armor (good thing he took it off!)
Behind the companions lies the body of the dead flying beast, completely blocking the path. There is a small rivulet of hissing liquid spilling out from under one side of it.
The path stretches before the companions, winding through tall stalagmites. There are a variety of faint noises coming from the right. There is the sound of dripping water coming from the left.

Turning left, the companions wind their way through the stalagmites. Soon the path is lost from sight. In the diffuse light, the stalagmites and stalagtites and collumns seem like a strange forest. If it weren't for the constant sound of water dripping ahead of them, the companions would soon lose all sense of direction.
As Superbattler wends his way through the stalagmites and collumns, he becomes aware of a few flitting shapes overhead. Soon the cavern is once more filled with darting shadows and soft whispers of flying creatures.
As they draw closer to the water, Frizelious begins to distinguish the sounds of more than one set of drips. There are several echoing plopping sorts of drip notes and one drip set with a much higher note that doesn't drip nearly as frequently. The echoing drips have much deeper notes. Frizelious can distinguish at least 6 different notes with different rates of drip frequency.
Rounding a particularly large collumn, Superbattler and Frizelious are able to dimly see the cavern wall ahead of them. It appears to be only 10 meters (30 feet) or so away, around a few more stalagmites and collumns.
