Wit-gaining tips: Always try to answer riddles. If you do it correctly, you sometimes gain wits. Mezz critters. Helping critters gives you wits, not charm, so always try to help them (Unicorn in forest, work gang in goblin mound, panda in Shangri La, priests in Azteca. Anyone you can help in the mountains, docks, or Hie Brazil?). Bottling fairies sometimes gives wits. Running sometimes gives wits. Gambling in the castle does, too. Even if you're losing money! Travel used to give wits, but I'm not sure if it does anymore. I used to do A LOT of traveling, so my wits would get really high in comparison to my level (when McGonagall was level 14 she had almost 200 wits, which without drakes was pretty cool, considering I inherited her from Potter at level 12 or so with only 90 some wits).
Anyway, it wasn't a matter of luck. Any time anyone gets a sage skill, it will take away 2 guts, no wits, and 4 charm per skill, despite what it says it's doing.

Here's how to survive in Hie brasil and Shangala...
Hie Brasil: Kill, golems, fighters, and heros, Run from harpies and medusa (to prevent getting mezzed).
Shangala: Backstab samuris, Try to answer shoguns riddle, Help pandas, if it don't work, run, Trade with ninjas, Kill peasants.
You can tell the diff between a ninja and a peasant; guts and wits of peasants only go up to around 300, ninjas are much higher.

You should have some Sage Skills, and you should ALSO keep some theif insurance in your pack just in case.

I like the mermaids... they've been very polite about not mezzing me lately, and they give me FAIRIES! Bottles and bottles of lovely lovely fairies... Sorry, I have this mental image of that basement from E.A.Poe's story about the speleologists and the obliuette (does anyone know what I'm talking about?) only instead of bottles of wine in dusty racks, it's fairies. You can tell the age by the color and brightness of the glow: "I have a nice pale-blue vintage over in the corner," sort of thing. Um. Anyway... Hi.

You only get rocks if a Troll in the mountains swindles you, and you don't have anything for it to take. So it shoves rocks on you. This is really hard to do, because usually you have rope, lol. At least, this is the only way I know to get them... any other method anyone knows about? (Besides trading). Essentially, it's a collector's item! Lol.

I know blast powder does 40 damage each.... does the blast on equip add 40? Anyone know exactly how it works?
This wasnt answered on the next page so i'll answer it here. If the weapon is less than 120 attack, it changes it to 120a. If it is more than that it has absolutely no effect. ~vertigo3

No. How blast on Equip works is that it makes it either the attack that is already there, or 120. Whichever is higher. So there is no use have Blast on a higher weapon. That it total attack too, not just for that weapon. So like if you have a complete set of blast gear, it doesnt give you 750 Attack or anything. Just 120. :-D

Frizzer, What's this about frys dying? I have precious few; is there something I should be doing to preserve them? ? Inquiring minds and all that.

Ohhh yeas, put everything at the end of the day in your pack, it will hold 80 things, but I always try to keep it below 50 as there is a bug that can take away extra quests we have. Anyway, put everything in pack, go to the royal court, get the queens great blessing, no frys will die and nothing will tust, its 500 000 marks a day.

Actually just been speaking to Ian (rolanddeschain) and what happens with monsters' guts is they hit a sort of maximum but (and I don't mean this to be clever) I've been such high level for so long I didn't really notice it cos never quest in the fields woods etc, so yes you seem to be correct, when I fight a Jag it can have as high as 1k guts when Ian does (level 36) he's are usually around 500 guts, so it must be true, my apologies
