Lol, Visaru, it's the Fibinacci sequence (or however you spell it) and if you'd read "The Phantom Tollbooth" it would explain it much earlier than the Da Vinci Code, which I am still mad as FIRE about because I literally WAS using that as MY password on a number of things, and I had to change them when that BLESSED book came out. (Fume, mutter, grumble, glower) And I'm pretty sure 89 would be the next number. Hang on a second... yup. So he got it, cause he got the principal behind it. Which means his riddle still stands. But since I'm not ENTIRELY sure what "Snooker" is, I'm as stumped as you. Does it have something to do with pool?

Lol, the book was in the FICTION section. It got listed on the NYTimes FICTION list -I'd think it'd be fairly clear. It wasn't a bad little tale, not too gory for me. But I'm still mad at it for reminding the world of that wonderful little number combo.

Wait...are we talking about real lick or the cheating ones that they would always do in the commercial? Cause then it's three.

Um. Well that's as good an answer as any. I was curious one day and went to their website and you wouldn't believe how much money has been put into finding out!
* A group of engineering students from Purdue University recorded that their licking machine, modeled after a human tongue, took an average of 364 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. They tried the same licking test on 20 volunteers and found that the average licks to the center were 252 licks.
* A chemical engineering doctorate student from the University of Michigan recorded that his licking machine required an average of 411 licks per Tootsie Pop. * A group of students at Swathmore School used human lickers in a scientific experiment and determined it took an average of 144 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.
Based on the wide range of results from these scientific studies, it is clear that the world may never know how many licks it really takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.
