Here we go, Frizzer!
And to start us off: The area of Lombardy used to have its own language, which didn't die out until several centuries into the Roman conquest of the region.

Hey! Which Duff movie are you talking about? My friend emily and I rented the Lizzie McGuire movie on one of our stupid movie nights thinking that it would be great to make fun of, but it turned out to be pretty good.

ahhh my fav thread,,,,ok here's a one thats a bit hard to explain to anyone not from my area but I'll try. There are 2 rival local football teams, Sunderland and Newcastle, they are rivals because in our civil war Newcastle fought for the king and Suderland for Oliver Cromwell. OK, the Newcastle fans are call Mags, becuse there emblem is a Magpie,,makes sense. Sunderland fans are called Mackems, now here you would kind of have to know our accent, but its to do with ship building, in the glory days Sunderland docks would manufacture the ships, sail them up the tyne river and Newcastle docks would put them out to sea..So we get from that the saying They mackem (make them) we tackem (take them) its our gordie accent, so they are now Mackems

MMMM its probably because they are so far apart, Necastle and Sunderland are litteraly seperated by a river, there are loads of local rivalries like that

Okay, random useless info for you: cell phones with a business use of less than 50% have to be depreciated on a straight-line basis which takes 10 years to fully depreciate. Anyone want to hang on to a cell phone for that long? (Fun fun, Frizzer! -do the fans still side with Cromwell or King, too, or just side with the football teams?)

Useless knowledge, in real football, if the goalkeeper (the only one who can use his hands) kicks the ball out from a goal kick, and the wind blows the ball back in his own goal without touching another player, it is then a corner to the opposing team, not a goal.

Sounds like an exciting game sparked that ruling! The same type of sulfur-based bacteria (basis for an eco-system that requires heat but no sun to exist) found in the deep-sea trenches has been discovered in three different deep-cave situations. Also, stuffed potatos don't freeze well.

Greeting someone "cordially" used to mean that you greeted them with cordial -usually fruit cordial of some sort.
